Introduction
Mashkabari ("we", "us", "our") provides the Mashkabari app — a shop's easy monthly-market solution — letting a shop's customers and staff browse products, place orders, track purchases, and manage accounts for the specific shop they connect to on the Mashkabari platform.
This policy explains what information the Android app collects, why, and the choices you have. By using the app, you agree to the terms of this policy.
Information We Collect
Account & profile information
- Full name — required at sign-up.
- Email address — required for sign-up, login, and password reset (OTP/verification codes).
- Phone number — optional, if you choose to add it.
- Password — stored by our backend in hashed form; the app never stores your raw password on the device.
- Shop / subdomain — the shop or business you connect to, since Mashkabari is multi-tenant.
- Profile photo — optional, only if you choose to upload one.
Order, purchase & account-balance data
- Shopping cart contents and items you order.
- Purchase and sales history tied to your account and shop.
- Outstanding balance/dues, store credit, and reward points at that shop.
- For shop-staff accounts: inventory and product records you create or edit (name, price, stock, optional photo).
Camera
Used to scan product barcodes and, optionally, capture a profile or product photo. Barcode scanning is processed on-device — scanned images are never saved or uploaded, only the decoded barcode value is used to look up a product.
Files you generate or export
The app can generate PDF invoices/receipts and lets you share or open them with other apps (e.g. WhatsApp, email). These files are created locally and only leave your device when you actively share them.
We do NOT integrate any advertising SDK, and we do NOT use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in this build of the app.
Offline data stored on your device
To let you keep working without an internet connection, the app keeps a local database on your device with a cached product catalog, pending sale/order sessions, cart items, and payment entries recorded offline. This syncs automatically once you're back online and is used only to complete that sync.
How We Use Your Data
- Authentication: creating and securing your account, verifying your identity.
- Orders & payments: processing orders/sales and maintaining purchase history, balances, and reward points.
- Barcode lookup: letting you scan a product on- or offline.
- Sync: syncing data recorded while offline once you reconnect.
- Receipts: generating and letting you export/share invoices.
- Support: responding when you contact us.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or analytics.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
Your account and transaction data is stored under the shop you registered with, visible to that shop's authorized staff — the core purpose of the app.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mashkabari, our users, or the public.
- Our hosting/server providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, and do not use it for their own purposes.
Data Retention
We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account remains active with a shop, and as needed for legal, accounting, or tax obligations. Locally cached offline data stays on your device only until it syncs, or until you clear app data/uninstall.

Security
- Encrypted password storage (hashing).
- HTTPS-encrypted connections for all data transmission.
- Session-token based access control.
While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction — review and update your profile from within the app.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us; some records (e.g. completed sales) may be retained where legally required.
- Camera permission — deny or revoke it any time in device settings; barcode scanning and photo capture simply won't be available.
- Storage permission — used only to save/export files you generate, or attach a photo from your gallery.

Children's Privacy
Mashkabari is intended for shop owners, staff, and their adult customers, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. We'll update the "Effective date" above when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
